The Philadelphia Flyers will be without one of their big defensemen for the start of the NHL season, if the NHL season even starts.
Andrej Meszaros went under surgery recently for a torn right achilles tendon.
Flyers GM Paul Holmgren says Meszaros will be out "indefinitely".
This has to hurt Philadelphia big. Two weeks ago they lose out on stud defensemen Shea Weber and now will have to start the season without Meszaros.
Don't forget, Philadelphia will also be without star defensemen Chris Pronger.
Yeah, losing out on Weber is looking a lot worse now for the Flyers.
